Bunker Mentality and VoIP Phone Systems

Posted by Gregg Haughton on May 18, 2011 8:44:00 AM

I suppose it is no surprise that after such a prolonged and deep economic downturn, companies would be leary of spending money on technology. However, this "bunker mentality" among business decision makers can lead to missed opportunities.

With the explosive growth of smart phones, intelligent networks, and software based business communications systems, opportunities abound to make your business smarter, faster, and more efficient.

I have seen companies pass on hard dollar ROIs of less than a year because "our technology budgets are on hold". In more normal times, I have to think that companies would jump on these opportunities.

If you are using a business phone system that was made before 2005, then it is highly likely that replacing it will have a direct positive impact on your ability to communicate with your staff and customers. Today's VoIP phone systems leverage your data network, carrier networks, the Internet, and smart phones to creat a seamless distributed voice network.

So if you are hiding in a bunker, waiting for business to improve, nows the time to come out and look for ways to improve your business. Evaluate technology options as well as service providers to give your business the edge it needs to compete and win.
