VoIP Systems
Like the computing industry, the
communications industry is finally shifting from a proprietary hardware
to a software-centric model. Most VoIP system manufacturers still
deliver features on proprietary hardware devices. But with today’s
powerful computer servers, system redundancy and virtualization,
proprietary hardware is no longer required.
By converging voice and data over
broadband networks, Granite Communications can leverage existing
infrastructure and improve operational efficiency. We have been using
VoIP technology since 2000 to help our customers be more competitive.
Granite has extensive experience with IP PBX systems, Server Based IP
PBX Systems, and Converged IP Phone Systems.

How Does VoIP Work?
Voice over Internet Protocol means
basically what the acronym states: Voice travels over an Internet
Protocol. Internet Protocol refers to the type of rules that the network
uses to send and receive signals. IP Telephony works by converting
voice communications into data packets. Conveniently, it runs on the
popular Ethernet LAN (local area network) technology, which currently
supports over 96 percent of the worlds companies' LANs.
