If you dial 4 to delete a message it is an AVT; if you dial 3 it is a CTL.

To determine whether you have a Panasonic DBS or DBS576/576HD:
On any display phone, press ON/OFF, CONF 7. If you get a fast busy, then you have a DBS576/576HD.
